No Problems... Only Solutions
As seasoned stylists, we beauty experts at K Bella understand the struggles women and men have achieved the amazing hair they wish for. As always, we are here to help. However, we cannot do it alone. We need you (our valued guests) to help through trust, communication, and hard work to get the results you are looking for. One of our fabulous hair experts, Heather Hess, has brainstormed some hair problems and solutions for me to share with you.
Problem: You have been to many stylists/salons and haven’t had luck getting the results you hoped for.
Solution: Find a stylist who has good skill, and stays with them for a bit. Whether you are chasing good deals or coupons or jumping around for convenience, please understand that this never leads to happy hair. Just like it takes you a while to get to know a person, it takes your stylist time to get to know your hair. Each individual has unique hair which will reveal its qualities over the course of a few visits. Not to mention, each salon uses different hair color which does not always jive with the next, when you are constantly switching (and of course, boxed hair color from the drugstore is known for behaving badly. Period.). The moral of the story is, you need to take more time with a knowledgeable stylist, in order for them to deliver your best look.
Problem: You feel stuck with your style.
Solution: Talk to your stylist about a different look that will flatter your face, skin tone, and sense of style. You need to be willing to make the leap into the unknown to get “unstuck”. You also need to be willing to put in some work at home, whether it be learning to use a new tool or product, or taking a few extra minutes to execute a new blow dry technique on your fabulous cut. I can’t tell you how many times someone has brought me a picture of a new style they would like and proceed to tell me they do not want to take any time to style at home. If this is the case with you, I am sorry to say, your new fancy cut will not look the same as the picture without a little work on your end. It is important to add, that unless you maintain the health of your hair at home, you may not be able to sustain the desired look. Talk to your stylist, get educated about your hair, and take the leap.
Problem: I can’t afford great hair.
Solution: I will again urge you to communicate these concerns with your stylist. There are so many ways to achieve great hair that do not all involve spending a fortune. I could write a novel on this subject, but I will keep it short and sweet. Discuss price points with your stylist, and month to month adjust your routine. Maybe you can do a full highlight at one visit, and a partial the next. Or a tint retouch one month, and a tint express the next. Proper hair care at home plays a big role in your budgeting month to month…here’s how. If you keep your hair healthy at home with a quality product and good habits, you can space out your haircuts a bit (6 to 8 weeks from the previous cut). If you use appropriate color preserving products and good habits at home, your hair color will last longer and look fresher. Again, it is important to communicate any concerns with your stylist, we're here to help!
